Equity Energies – part of FTSE 100-listed DCC plc – has announced the appointment of Maureen Bray as managing director.

With extensive experience in the field of carbon and energy across commercial and consulting roles, Maureen brings over 15 years of global energy and sustainability consultancy leadership, having supported Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 corporates address their challenges in climate governance, planning and strategy implementation.

Maureen has carried out several notable roles with consultancy and management teams. These include senior director, energy and climate at 3Degrees where she led the regional development of climate solutions, and Schneider Electric – first as head of energy and carbon compliance before becoming senior director, energy and climate where she was responsible for overseeing high-profile sustainability projects and client delivery across EMEA.

Her appointment coincides with the one-year anniversary of the launch of Equity Energies by DCC Energy in June 2024 – which added capability for commercial and industrial customers as part of DCC’s Cleaner Energy in Your Power strategy. In the past year, Equity Energies has rapidly established itself as a leading force in energy strategy consulting, providing bespoke solutions that cover Net Zero pathway design incorporating procurement, monitoring and measurement, benchmarking and reporting, underpinned by data and insights which empower organisations to turn Net Zero ambitions into valuable and tangible results.

In her new role, Bray is tasked with ‘ delivery of the company’s forward-looking strategy and positioning the organisation for scalable growth through its commitment to reducing carbon intensity, increasing the use of renewables and advancing the energy transition.”

David Taylor, Commercial Director, DCC Energy GB said: “The launch of Equity Energies enhanced DCC’s portfolio in the UK, complementing the integrated offer of the Group to progress towards a more sustainable future. Maureen’s deep expertise in energy and climate strategy will be instrumental as we enter our next phase of growth.”

“Under her direction we will continue delivering outstanding results for our clients whilst broadening our impact. Her arrival comes at a time when the reduction of energy waste and emissions and the acceleration of decarbonisation has never been so crucial.”

Maureen commented: “I’m thrilled to join Equity Energies at such a pivotal moment. In just one year the team has built an impressive foundation, helping organisations reframe what is a significant challenge into a powerful opportunity – improving efficiencies, reducing waste and increasing generation and consumption of sustainable energy. I look forward to accelerating our mission in delivering equitable, high-impact energy and climate strategies for organisations across the UK.”
